SHAPE Flu Study

PURPOSE

We are trying to better understand how stress affects people's immune systems. We are also interested in what kinds of experiences and sources of support might protect the body from stressful conditions.

We are studying how the immune system responds to receiving the flu shot, specifically how many antibodies are produced after getting this vaccine. Some research suggests that chronic stress may dampen people’s immune responses, but there may be protective factors that help to reduce the effect of stress on immune systems.
